Case Study 1991
A world-renowned TV manufacturer was receiving etches in demountable
intermediate bulk containers-This had logistical, safety and environmental
impacts on their operation.
A project was proposed by Gower Chemicals to design, fund and install
to point of process call, a storage system capable of handling,
initially 3 major etch / cleaning products (see photograph). The
cost was amortised over the usage of all three products (volume
/ time span) creating a minor additional litre price charge over
approximately 3 years.
The actual cost reduction to the customer in respect of handling
and service charges equated to some £175k per annum -back in
1991
