Outsourcing of Product The Korean television manufacturer Lucky
Goldstar set up a major TV tube manufacturing plant in South
Wales in 1996. They required a wide and varied range of chemicals
from many areas of the world.
Gower Chemicals Ltd sourced all these using extensive knowledge
and databases and presented the portfolio to LG. several products
continued to be taken from their original supplier whilst others
were supplied via Gower - including the UK manufactured commodity
chemicals.
Naturally LG now have the reassurance that
there is a 'backup' supply chain in place which could be activated
within a short period of time should current suppliers create significant
problems
storage and technical equipment to LG.
Specific mobile storage units for flammables and corrosives have
been supplied (against a 3 year working agreement) to enhance their
existing warehouse facilities and product specific pumps and valves.
